In memory of Layne G Leonard:  20 June 1953 – 18 July 2020, RIP.

Layne was an active and enthusiastic shooter, as well as a longtime member of Eagle Lake Gun Club.  Layne was always generous with his support for Eagle Lake Gun Club.  He helped organize numerous events and donated many artistic details to stage designs and Club facilities.  It seems appropriate that we, his shooting family, honour his passing by “putting a few rounds downrange”.  The proceeds from this match will be donated to causes and charities, that Layne held dear.

This match will be designed to be FUN!  It will include as many shooters as possible, and:

• feature 8 stages, drawn loosely from the IDPA/Steel Challenge disciplines.  (4 of each);
• feature relaxed procedural rules, but will rigorously follow and enforce safety discipline;
• possibly include a shotgun stage (firearm and ammunition provided);
• will be open to all ELGC members (that have completed club level safety training);
• scoring will be (modified) IDPA;
• shooters may participate using either, pistols or rifles;
  •   semi auto,
  •   22lr or pistol caliber (no magnums),
  •   3 magazines are required;
• round count will be approximately 180.
• social distancing and mask requirements will be in accordance with, Federal, Provincial, Municipal and ELGC directives on the day.
