The 2026 Range Junkie Algonquin Cup has officially come to an end, and what a fantastic weekend it was.
On behalf of Eagle Lake Gun Club, the Match Staff, Safety Officers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone involved behind the scenes, thank you to the 76 competitors who joined us for this year’s event. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and commitment to the shooting sports made this another memorable Algonquin Cup.
Over the course of the match, competitors navigated nine challenging stages designed to test accuracy, decision-making, movement, and stage management. From low-light scenarios to dynamic defensive shooting challenges, the goal was to provide a match that was both fun and demanding for shooters of all skill levels.
Events of this scale do not happen by accident. The match required months of planning and a dedicated week of setup involving countless volunteer hours. Special thanks go out to our Build Crew, Safety Officers, Match Officials, Eagle Lake Gun Club members, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring the match to life and ensure a safe, professional, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We would also like to recognize our sponsors for their generous support, particularly our title sponsor, Range Junkie, whose commitment to the shooting sports community continues to help make events like the Algonquin Cup possible.
Congratulations to all competitors who challenged themselves throughout the weekend, and a special congratulations to Jean-Baptiste (John) Nguyen, the 2026 Range Junkie Algonquin Cup Overall Match Champion.
One statistic worth highlighting is that over 11,500 rounds were fired during the match, safely and responsibly, demonstrating once again the professionalism and discipline that define the action shooting community.
More than scores and trophies, the Algonquin Cup is about community. It is about bringing together people from different clubs, backgrounds, and experience levels to share a common passion for the shooting sports. The friendships, camaraderie, and support shown throughout the weekend are what make these events truly special.
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, officiated, and supported the 2026 Range Junkie Algonquin Cup.
We hope you enjoyed the match as much as we enjoyed hosting it.
Until next time, train hard, stay safe, and we’ll see you on the range.
